we are will observe September 8 as a holiday, to commemorate the birth & courageous advocacy of Ruby Bridges. In 1960 at 6 years old, she became the first Black child to walk into an all white school. We choose to celebrate her birth to empower the children we support and children everywhere to recognize their own ability to affect change at a young age.
