Let’s Talk Racism Conference
Call for Proposals Now Open!
It's time to submit your proposal for the 9th Annual Let's Talk Racism Conference, happening March 22, 2025! This year the conference will be held in Greensboro at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and will provide an opportunity for educators, parents, students and community members to discuss ways of dismantling systemic racism in our schools.
We look forward to reviewing your proposals for breakout sessions. Sessions will last one hour, and we’d like for presenters to incorporate our theme, Making Space for Today's Voices: The Student Movement, in their presentation. We want to see proposals that focus on students, educators, community leaders, parents, etc embodying social justice, anti-racism work in collaboration with today’s youth. While it’s not a requirement, we’d love for students to either lead sessions or co-present with their teacher/advisor.
We welcome proposals addressing our theme through policy, politics, programs, and/or pedagogy. Please submit your proposal using this link by 11:59 PM, November 22, 2024. Acceptance emails will be sent by December 20, 2024.
The Let's Talk Racism Conference is co-hosted by an Education Collaborative composed of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University’s College of Education, North Carolina Central University's School of Education, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and we are (working to extend anti-racist education, Inc).
We look forward to hearing from you. Please email us at admin@weare-nc.org if you have questions, comments or concerns.
